Thanks. That worked to allow me to reinstall to default.

Unfortunately, the NPVR Service was still isn't starting. Error same as initially reported.

So I tried the command prompt "nrecord.exe run"... and lo and behold! it is working again.

I'll update this thread in the morning with whether or not it work normally now.

Thank you for your assistance. It is greatly appreciated.

That didn't seem to work. It still errors after re-install. Same original communication error.

It does still work if I run the "nrecord.exe run" command from prompt however.

Hmm.

I can type "service" (without the quotes) into the search box beside the start button and then click on "View local services" and then right-click on "NPVR Recording Service" and select Properties to see the .exe, and its folder, that the recording service is trying to use.

Yes. I think this is the right path.

The service is looking in the wrong place for nrecord.exe. Hmm. Do you know how to change the path of the executable in the NPVR Service?

It is strange that the service clearly didn't delete properly after the previous "sc delete nextpvr recording service" was executed... Or it is somehow remembering the old path to it still....

Sorry, meant to type:

sc delete "NPVR Recording Service"

Then re-install
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct

Thanks will try that. Strange it didn't error. >__>

Update... The Service won't die! I executed the command above then refreshed the Services list and it is still there... I even copied the Service Name and pasted it

Update2... While looking up how to delete a service I found you can modify them via regedit. So I updated the NPVR entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services with the correct C:\ path and so far... everything is good!

Thanks again. NPVR is so good because of the support it gets.
