Does anybody have any advice for recording sports? In particular, NHL and MLB games. In NYC we have 7 channels that might potentially show hockey games (4 local channels, NHL, NBCSports, NBC), and baseball may be on a number of channels as well. The games are usually listed as "NHL Hockey" or "MLB Baseball" with the team name in the program subtitle. We have 3 hockey teams and 2 baseball teams on top of the national broadcasts (I imagine this is also an issue for NBA). Obviously recording the season of "NHL Hockey" is not an option even if "any channel" was.

In the web interface (http://[host]:8866) I am able to search for the team name in the subtitle and filter by channels and genre, but the settings at the top of the page, first run seemingly most important, seem to make no effect, and at any rate occur after the screen in which I would be able to save the search for auto-recording.

I've been trying to figure this out between the NextPVR desktop interface, web interface, and Kodi.

Thank you for any insight you might be able to lend!

go to any showing of the sport you're interested in, make a 'all episodes, all channels' recording...
then go into recordings screen, select that recurring recording and update, go down to 'advanced rules' and you'll see 'title like 'something'...
add "and subtitle like 'yourteamname' " so it's look like "title like 'NHL Hockey%' and subtitle like '%Islanders%'
[the % are like wildcards, so %title% would catch anything with the word 'title' anywhere in the field, 'title%' would match anything starting with 'title']
[and using the word 'like' means not-case-sensitive]
then do an epg update and see if that gets you what you want...

there's another better post about this elsewhere if you look around recently..Big Grin

Thank you for the assist. I dug around the forum and couldn't find anything helpful, maybe I wasn't hitting the right keywords.

Let's go Islanders! ;D
