My setup is quite solid, but sometimes I get 0 bytes recordings with the "No data deliverd" message. Restarting the recording service seems to fix it. In my logs I see the following line:
Code:
2015-11-11 13:39:00.176    [DEBUG][103]    Unexpected error on DVB-C put_TunerRequest: 0x8000FFFF

Recordings that are OK do not have this line in the logs. The logs are attached.

Sub, you're back in NZ so I figured I'd give my question a bump.

Its not really clear what to suggest on this one. For whatever reason, occasionally your drivers or device are rejecting the tuning request that NextPVR requests.

I see you're using an HDHR. It's not in use in any other software when this happens?

You don't know if the HDHR produces any logs that we could check?

It happened again today, so I checked the HDHR logs through it's webserver. Every time nextpvr does a tuning request, I see this in the logs:
Code:
20151129-16:59:20 Tuner: tuner0 streaming rtp to 192.168.178.22:53740
But when the error occurs, there is no tuning line in the HDHR logs. Are there more logs I can check?

NextPVR doesn't actually make that request to 192.168.178.22:53740 itself. It just think it's talking to a normal local BDA device. Behind the scenes the device's drivers do all the networking stuff. It sounds like for whatever reason, it sounds like sometimes it's not doing that. I wonder if there is any driver logging that can be enabled for HDHR?

I've emailed SiliconDust to ask them what this 0x8000FFFF code tells us.

Nope, they gave a pretty useless answer, and didn't really offer any suggestions.

Just an update: I've done a fresh setup of my server, now with Windows 10. I've been running this for a month now and haven't seen it again, so it looks like it's fixed.
