I did not see anyone asking this, sorry if I overlooked anyone that did. I started running NextPVR on a wireless connectd Laptop. Is there anyway to connect NextPVR to a Sony Bluray player that is on the network?

Plex app
I'm not sure if you Blu-ray can run apps you didn't say what model it was

And if you want a better way of finding recordings on plex there is this

Maybe I am not asking the question well I am not all that sharp on this stuff, let me try again. I have NEXTpvr running on a laptop through a MDhomerun extend adapter and it is working great. Trying to figure out the best way to watch it on a tv that is connected to the sony bluray on the same network. Netflix is accessible through the bluray, is there a way to access the laptop? I could install a chromecast on the TV but seems unnecessary if I can access it through the bluray.

Upnp server is what you need on PC(laptop)
I can't remember if thsony Blu-ray player will play the files that Windows serves up on the native one
That's where plex comes in it can be set to convert to a friendly version for your Blu-ray
There are others also https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparis...ia_servers

Depends how much time you want to put into learning how it all works

The reason I asked what you expected was -your Blu-ray is a bit limited in what it can do.

If I understand what you are saying, a Upnp server like Kido or Plex will make the files available to the Blu-ray but all that I will see on the blu-ray is a list of files and the command functions will not be available. Is that correct?

I have that same one (from Costco). I use Universal Media Server as my DLNA server to stream the shows to the player. But first I have MCEBuddy compress the NextPVR videos down to a smaller MP4.
But, yes, just video playback.
