Yep.... that's where the problem is. It's the main viewing server.

It feeds the Sony TV via HDMI (as a PC Monitor) along with The WDTV, AppleTV V4 and Foxtel. The Audio is then fed to the Sony Amp via TOS LINK.

Thanks Sub. I hope it does. Any chance of allowing volumes higher than 100% like <Volume>+3db<Volume>Big Grin

Mark

No - the API I use for volume doesn't allow for greater than 100%. You'd need to fix that at your source.

Well why were you testing on a machine that wasnt even playing back the file to the tv.
The machine that plays back the file is wherre you need to be fixing looking and the decoder/filters on that machine are the ones that matter

Q1 If you play back the file does the lav decoder icon appear in the task bar by the clock? YES or No

Q2 If you lower the volume setting in the lav audio decoder settings does the playback volume get lower.? Yes or no

All testing was done on the 32Bit Windows 10 Machine (WMC) with lookie-see on the 64bit workhorse.

Quote:Q1 If you play back the file does the lav decoder icon appear in the task bar by the clock? YES or No

Yep! (including LAV Splitter and LAV Video) [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

Quote:Q2 If you lower the volume setting in the lav audio decoder settings does the playback volume get lower.? Yes or no

I haven't tried that yet..... (I cannot find it)

Quote:That makes no sense

My setup?
WMC (Server) with NextPVR (to record FreeToAir TV and Play Back Videos). Storage Machine for all Video. Feeds SonyTV via HDMI
SonyTV also has LAN Access to WMC for direct play of Videos
WDTV has LAN Access to WMC - Feeds SonyTV Via HDMI
AppleTV can access WMC if I setup ITunes share but it is used for STAN and NETFLIX ... Feeds SonyTV Via HDMI
FOXTEL feeds SonyTV via HDMI
The SonyTV then Feeds Sony AMP Via TOS Link - optical cable with Audio (PCM)

1 control for The AMP-Volume, TV, WDTV and Foxtel. Big Grin

thank you
sorry i got the volume wrong i was doing it from memory (got mixed up with ffdshow)

But have a fiddle with the settings on the mixing tab
see if you can change it to passthrough not pcm

Just stick to the machine that does the playback the other machine has no affect on playback

i see its only outputing 2 channels and im wondering if your amp is expecting 5.1 so the middle channel with all the vocals is missing meaning the volume is low
see if you can configure it to use 5.1 as in upmix it to that from the 2 channels under mixing tab in lav

testing on my laptop because thats all i have in front of me if you untick enable mixing the sound gets louder only 2 speakers on my laptop
Q1 are using a centre channel speaker on your sony amp ?

this may also trick a 2 channel tv into been louder also

Q2when you run an original .ts file what does the output look like in lav audio decoder settings? as in does it play 2 channels or 5.1 ?
the reason I ask is because you said it plays back at normal volume
