Hi,
I have started using Schedule Direct and really like it, and how easy it integrates with NextPVR.
One this I miss is the ability to change the feed to include season / episode number in the description. It makes it much easier to see if I have seen it or not via Kodi.
Is there a way to either change the feed to include this or some Post processing that I can do to add this / other info?

Thanks Phil

Having this month finally switched over to grabbing EPG data from a local EPG site that also carries tv series and episode numbers, I can say that NextPVR supports this. Which also in turn supports the function in NextPVR that prevents duplicate recordings.

Now, my situation uses WebGrab to get the data from freeview.com.au and I have made edits to a script to add the series and ep numbers.
So the series and ep numbers must come from Schedules Direct. Since I dont use it I dont know if this information is contained in the Schedules Direct dump? or on site etc, I have no idea how that system works.

Do you have a sample xml output with an episode number?

I found that NextPVR uses the XMLTV standard with 'xmltv_ns' format which is "season.episode." format for basic intents and purposes, note the trailing "." you need that.
Scroll down on this XMLTV DTD page and search for Episode Number for more information

Here is a sample of my xml for input to NextPVR which works correctly.
Please note 'xmltv_ns' is a 0 based system so '0.5.' is season 1 episode 6.

Code:
<programme start="20160828183000 +1000" stop="20160828190000 +1000" channel="ELEVEN Western Vic">
    <title lang="en">The Simpsons</title>
    <sub-title lang="en">The Blunder Years</sub-title>
    <desc lang="en">After tricking Marge into thinking an advertising spokesman is coming to visit her, Homer takes Marge and the rest of the family to a restaurant featuring a hypnotist that uses his powers on Homer</desc>
    <credits>
      <actor>Dan Castellaneta</actor>
      <actor>Julie Kavner</actor>
      <actor>Nancy Cartwright</actor>
      <actor>Yeardley Smith</actor>
    </credits>
    <category lang="en">Animation</category>
    <category lang="en">Series</category>
    <episode-num system="xmltv_ns">12.4.</episode-num>
    <rating system="AU">
      <value>PG</value>
    </rating>
  </programme>

Another thing I noticed is, it seems either NextPVR does not pass this on to Kodi for use in the EPG or Kodi does not do anything with the data (more likely?).
So I plan to add the season and episode info as first bit of the description in format s[xx]e[xx] for easy identification.

And (i swear..) the last thing to note is the other option i enabled since doing this is the rename recorded file names to include season and episode numbers which works great for recordings and kodi nextpvr addon identifies tv show recordings correctly using the season and episode numbers (very cool).

Enjoy Smile

Here is what NextPVR and Kodi look like, including a recorded shows before after adding the episode info into NextPVR

So here is NextPVR, its subtle where the season and episode information info is, its in the info screen tho.
[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

On to Kodi, no info in the EPG
[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

No info in EPG info on the same show
[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

Kodi, recordings working nicely now
[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

And an example of show that wife was recording prior to and after my modification. I really dislike the episodes without the info now haha

There are a lot of things like series/episode marked as unused in the source in the Kodi EPG https://github.com/kodi-pvr/pvr.nextpvr/...r.cpp#L412 that probably can now be used in new versions of Kodi. The channel.listing api would need to be expanded to add them and the addon updated. There might be time for Krypton
