I also have the occasional wakeup failure of the receiver (mine is Acer branded, but the usual packaging). Interesting on the FLIRC; I have one that I have never tried. If it is more reliable than the MCE receiver, it would be worth pursuing. Any insight would be appreciated. You can PM me rather than take up forum space. Thanks.

If you are having the same intermittent problems with you IR receiver, I would recommend having a go with the FLIRC.
If you need help, it would probably make sense for you to create a new FLIRC thread so others can benefit from the discussion. I certainly don't profess to be an expert in this subject but I have managed to get it working for me.

I have 5 FLIRCs, one for each PC client. works with all Windows, Linux, LE & OE. With the FLIRC, I use whatever Remote I have lying around - like the one from my Cable provider - FiOS. Quite easy to setup. Once setup, you can save the configuration in a file and the load that same configuration to other remotes.
Also, the Flirc can store ~160 key presses, so that one FLIRC can operate at least 3 different types of remotes at the same time.

Also, I have it setup (with some keymappings.xml and keyboard.xml edits) to operate both the nextpvr client and kodi clients at the same time using two different remote devices. Although, I must admit, this confuses my wife to no end. Smile

OK, I'll work on this and start another thread if needed. There does seem to be a common theme here, though. Smile

Since I use a Hamony 350 I set up a test.
1. Scheduled a recording from 9 PM to 10PM
2. At 915 hit the watch TV button and the montior shut off, sound bar off, and the computer went to sleep.
3. Left it over night and NextPVR said the recording was ended at 2 AM the next day. 2 AM is my scheduled maintenance, so it updates.
4. Also playback had issues after 915 PM, since the computer was sleeping.

Is there anyway to force windows 10 to stay active during recordings? ONly solution I found is to remove the power control for the computer on the harmony.

I'm fuzzy on this, but I'm sure that there is a setting for each activity that allows you to turn off or not turn off the devices when leaving the activity. It sounds like when you go to TV the Harmony is sending an off command to the Media Center PC or whatever device you're using for NPVR. I have mine setup to send a power on (functions as a wake) to the PC when going to DVR or whatever I called it. I have "do nothing" set when leaving DVR; the computer then goes to sleep after the idle time unless it is recording. IIRC, the power settings are on a different screen/place in the Harmony web app. They may have the defaults set to power off. Also, I have the Harmony off button to only turn off the TV, the cable box, Roku and PC are not controlled by the off button.

NPVR does things to keep the computer awake while recording. Works perfectly for me on Win 7. I was away for 3 weeks last summer and came home to a bunch of perfect recordings and a updated EPG.

It works and you can control the power on and off. But even on an MCE remote, if you click the power button during a recording it happens. Most of us know better, but it is something to consider when you are recording shows.
I was hoping there was way in windows if an active app was running the software could override the sleep request.
The problem seems to be not waking up the computer but putting it to sleep during a recording. The next scheduled timer works great and wakes up the PC, but the hung recording time does not always end.

That's the only solution that I have found as well. When you tell Windows to shut down or go to sleep, it does it RIGHT NOW. It doesn't care what else is going on. Sad
