I previously had NextPVR Installed and uninstalled it.

I have just reinstalled it, and halfway through installation I get error:
Server database not found at: \\192.168.1.2\npvr\npvr.db3

I hit ok, and the install continues, but then if I try to launch NextPVR I get the same error.

The local IP Address of the computer I'm installing it on is 192.168.1.2 - and this is the server address I had setup in NextPVR last time, so I'm wondering if this is a hang up from my prior install?

In any case, there seems to be no way to open/use Next PVR. Any ideas?

EDIT: The issue has been fixed by Sharing the NPVR directory in Windows Sharing. The Directory is in C:\Users\Public

It sounds like you ticked the 'act as client' tickbox. You're not supposed to do that in a normal setup. Untick it and it'll no longer be looking for the database on a share.

The quickest and easiest is to start again but you will lose any info about recordings ... Uninstall NextPVR ... go to c:\User\Public\ and delete the NPVR folder to get rid of any settings and configuration left over from previous installs ... re-install NextPVR.

Don't delete the NPVR folder if there are recordings or other configuration info that you want to keep. Post again and we can try something else.

Another person set up NextPVR for me. Do I need to re-download the program or is there a Setup somewhere? I have a lot or recordings I don't want to lose.

I think that this will fix it : Go to C:\Users\Public\NPVR. Edit the file config.xml. Search for ClientMode. Replace the word True on that line with the word False. Save file. Restart NPVR.

Yeah ... What he said ... For completeness ... Simply stated, NextPVR has two components ... the client application software that you see on screen and where you view the Guide and schedule and watch recordings ... Also, there is a NextPVR Server Service that runs continuously in the background that controls access to the tuner devices and creates recordings ... I use NextPVR on one computer and the client software and the server service are on the same machine and access the NextPVR configuration files on that machine.

It is possible to to run the client software on a second (and third and fourth ...) computer and have the client application connect to a server service on another computer. You would tick the client application box on the second machine.
