Hi,

I'm moving from DVBLink to NextPVR but having issues.

First all seemed to be good, I was able to record and play just fine.

But the recording seemed to fail after a couple of successful recordings, seemed like recording service went very sluggish and started to cause errors to recordings and after that stopped recording until the service was rebooted.

I scheduled a service reboot for every night hoping it would fix it.

But now I noticed NextPVR recorded empty files, they show up in records, but do not play and looks like there's no data.

Currently I'm trying to rescan channels, but so far no channels have appeared.
At the same time my TV shows channels just fine.

System:
Windows 10 64-bit, Intel Core i3 3225, 8GB DDR3, 1TB HDD. Tuners: 2 x PCTV 291e/461e BDA 28179 TVTuner C

Logs attached.

There is no sign of any errors in the logs, but looks like the device is failing to lock onto a signal. Maybe check the cables and any splitters. Also check the device is still working in DVBLink.

I've never heard any reports of recording service becoming sluggish before, and given a lack of any sign of problems in the logs you supplied, so I'm not so sure about that. If it happens again, check the CPU usage, and what process is using it (since NextPVR is made of multiple processes).

Thank you for the quick answer.

I have removed the USB extension cables I had and it looks like I'm able to scan for channels again.
Funny, those cables should be fairly good quality and got ferrite rings as well.

I'll report how it goes after this.

BTW, is there a easy way to purge those faulty recordings?

Also looks like I have scanned previously with Signal Rate 6950, but the correct for this area is 6900, it did find channels though.

Ok - great.

Just delete the files, and they'll be automatically be deleted from NextPVR too.

Thanks, good to know NextPVR is smart enough to do the cleaning by itself.

Until you accidentally delete some recording files that you meant to keep

But ... the behaviour is controlled by values in config.xml ... AutoRemoveMissingRecordings and NoRemoveWhenTreeMissing ... the tree missing prevents deletion if the entire folder is missing ... perhaps because an external disk or NAS is not connected
