Android app skips back 5-10min loop

I wanted to post a few observations. Today while out I wanted to watch some tv on my android phone. I used the NextPVR app and again had the 2min then looping and playing the same 2 min over and over. So I tested and it only happened with the IPTV. I then selected a HDHOMERun channel and it played fine.

I've never been able to reproduce it, but yes I'm pretty sure it can only happen with IPTV.

My theory is that it's something to do with the bursty way data can arrive with HLS iptv streams, with big chunks of data being delivered 5-10 seconds, then nothing in between. I think it's overflowing a ring buffer used for streaming to the client, and you start to see old data from another part of the ring. I suspect a TS stream from most providers would also work (though there are some where the TS stream is just a wrapper on the HLS stream, and the data still arrives in chunks every 5-10 seconds)

A full set of logs with it happening may help us find the cause.

The logs do show the m3u8 file chunk reads looping on 00-05005.ts 00-55005.ts. I wonder if NextPVR downloads the m3u8 as it grows and starts over?

Still issue but just living with it. Sometimes if I try over and over re-connect too the channel it will work.
