I am a new user but also a computer programmer so very tech savvy. I have imported a m3u url and epg into a IPTV device. I can see the guide by groups and everything looks fine until I try to record a series.

The pending recordings lists the shows to be recorded with the correct start and stop times but when they actually record they are only recording the first few minutes at which time the get moved to recorded. They play fine but only those few minutes. I have the pre and post times set to 1 and 2 minutes respectively.

They machine is not sleeping or shutting down during recording.

I want to cut the cord but unless I can get series to record my other half will never agree to it Sad

Reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

The transcoding on your PC cannot keep up with the stream. A reasonably powerful CPU is required to handle this.

Since the system will possibly need to record several streams at once what CPU would you suggest?

Try this patch:

Hopefully it'll no longer need to transcode your stream.
