Unable to stop recording service

Good Day...until recently I was able to start/stop the recording service by either the start menu items or going to the services app. Now I cannot stop the recording service at all even if I disable it in the services app. Any ideas? Thanks and cheers!

Well that seemed to fix the issue at hand. My reason to sop the service was so I could delete the database file to re setup NPVR from scratch and include the latest patch. I tried using nextpvr.exe -emptydb but that didn't delete the database at all. So when I restarted the database was still there. Then on the second restart the database is now gone and I can start/stop the service like normal. Go figure. Thanks and cheers!

It's not mean to delete the database file. It deletes the contents in the database, effectively putting it back to a clean new database.

Good day sub...bad choice of words on my part. Before executing the command, I had a db that consisted of over 35,000kb. After the execution, the file was still there with all of its contents. No worries now after the second restart. Thanks again.

The file wont shrink immediately. SQLite databases don't shrink when you delete content. The app will try to do a 'vacuum' to reclaim unused space at the next reboot if it can get an exclusive lock on the file (resulting in it shrinking down to 30kb or so for an empty database)
