There is something "strange" going on with the scheduler in the latest version.

See the Nrecord.log.3 file for last night's EPG update. Every recording is being marked as "Conflict Alternative Airing" except for Rescue 911s -- in that case, I'm getting 2 pending recordings for each episode--one normal and one marked "Conflict Alternative Airing".

You can get a copy of the database here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AkmTACBH_ZQjgaBQlkT6K1ct5Mu31w

I've got 5 tuners configured. The 4 on the HDHR Quatro with OTA channels and 1 of the HDHR Prime CableCard tuners. I have NOT merged the Quatro channels with the Prime channels. All of the recordings for OTA channels were scheduled from the Quatro channels (the 4.1, 11.3, etc. ones) and the cable only recordings (Chrisley Knows Best on USAHD) were scheduled from the Prime channels (825, etc.).

All of the recurring recordings are for Season, New, This Channel Only except for Rescue 911 which is for Any Channel.

Update after last night's EPG update: The duplicate Rescue 911 episodes are gone. But the ones that are there are marked as Conflict Alternative Airings.

I think that I might have an idea what happened. Friday night, one of the network cables between my HDHR Quatro and my test server stopped working. So when the Saturday morning EPG update occurred, NPVR would have thought that only 1 tuner (the HDHR Prime) was available. None of the OTA shows was scheduled for channels on that tuner, but all of those actual channels are on there, so when the Alternative Airing logic kicked in, it would have found the shows, but on a different channel than the one it was actually scheduled for. So the message would make sense at that time.

What was confusing me was that now that the Quatro is accessible again, I was still getting those errors. I think that it is because when the EPG update process is deleting scheduled recurring recordings, it's not deleting all of those Conflict Alternative Airing pending recordings. Then, when it goes through the list of recurring recordings to schedule, it's finding that the episodes are already Pending (and it doesn't notice/care that the Pending is a Conflict Alternative Airing on the "wrong" channel on the "wrong" tuner).

Did you restart NextPVRServer after the cable issue?

It currently looks for the devices at startup, and will mark unavailable devices as such. Unfortunately, it's not going to know later that it has been reconnected unless you'd restarted the app, or hit the 'rescan for devices' button. (nextpvr v4 was similar, but only looked for devices and updated their status when you visited the Settings->Devices page)

Yes. Multiple times. And, in fact, I had upgraded to the latest Windows pre-release yesterday (to get the channel icon download working again).

In the devices page is it listed as available?

Here's the devices page:

And I am able to watch live on one of the quatro tuners and do a quick record schedule on one.

I've grabbed the database. I'm just trying to work out the best way to fake a rescheduling of recordings, without it scanning for devices. (v4 had a '-recurring' command line parameter I could use for this)

I'm not sure how it got in the state in the first place, but I can see why these "Conflict Alternative Airing" aren't going away with an EPG update.

They're currently in the database as one-off recordings, so they're not being auto deleted as part of the EPG update. You'll probably have to manually delete them, then subsequent EPG updates they'll come in fine.

I'm not sure how they ended up as one-off recordings in the first place though...

Ah, thinking back, I think these 'Conflict Alternative Airing' are scheduled as one-off, but I can't remember the exact reason it was done this way.

So probably happened when your device was disconnected for a big, causing it to create them, but they've stayed there, and aren't cleaning themselves up because they're one-offs.

I'll look at the code again to see if I can work out why they're one-offs.
