MVP & Remote Control

I know from all the searches I have done that I really should give up on this, but I can't just get my head around it!

I do not have an IR.EXE so (I assume I can't map functions), I have an irmote.ini but it only has one item in it.

My confusion is that as the MVP responds to most keys(even if not correctly) somewhere there must be a prog that interprets it. Or maybe not, I don't know!!

Reven is making some additions for MyMusic but because of lack of unused keys (even tho the're not unused from my perspective) I would need to map a keystoke to a key.

Is it that it just cant be done?

Any ideas?

The key mappings are hard coded in the main GB-PVR software (have been for the last 15 months), so unfortunately you are not able to change them.

Thanks Sub, I'll give up then, I know you have a zillion things to do, but if it was possible, could it be soft coded down the line sometime.

I have a Happuage Nova T(90009) and an Hauppauge MVP. I've posted several messages about the MVP remote. Last night I used the Nova T Remote on the MVP box. And it works !!! The moral of the story is to ditch the MVP remote in favour of your Nova T Remote.

Shame no one put that in the documentation/installtion guide.

Thanks, only prob, I dont have one. I do however use OFA6 RC so if I could get the codes I could program it. (I had been planning that for the MVP anyway.)

I have a JP1 cable & s/w if any one has the set up. I will try the JP1 forum later.

I cant find the NovaT in the JP1 files. Does this operate by another name?

Sub, can you say which device/RC you used as the master to hard code. I could then search on that device on JP1 and try that.
