I'm having trouble getting the MVP remote to functions during playback.

By way of background, I'm upgrading from GBPVR to NPVR on a new Windows 7 PC. So I'm still finding my way around the new features of NPVR. I am able to navigate around the NPVR menus with no problem using the arrow buttons. So the remote is definitely functioning.

However, on my old GBPVR setup, I was able to skip ahead in a recording (mostly to skip through commercials) by an amount of seconds that I could set. This was done using the Skip button. Furthermore, if I prefaced pressing of the Skip button with a numeric button, GBPVR would skip ahead by that many minutes. I could also go back in a recording in the same manner. None of this functionality seems to be present in NPVR. The Pause and Play buttons, though, do function as expected during playback.

Is there some way to get the MVP remote to provide the skip forward and backward functionality?

You will need to compress and upload your logs. Seeking in live tv might not work, it wasn't when I stopped testing on the MVP around v 1.5.x so try recordings too.

Thank you once again for your help, Martin.

I forgot to mention the MVP crashing... I figured that was a one-time glitch.

I am having the same skip problems on my MVP.
My MVP also crashes everytime when pushing the back/exit button when playing back a recording or a video.

I also have another MVP remote problem, so I thought I'd post this here too:
When I am, for example, in video menu and I can see a list of video's, I can push "arrow down" to move 1 line lower but "page down"(which should take me 1 page down the list) doesn't work.

Wim

EDIT: I saw in a different post that there's a workaround patch for the skip problem. See the npvr support thread, sticky 2.2.6
That also fixed my crash when pushing back/exit when playing a recording or video.

But now when I push "arrow down (skip right)" in the video menu, for example when in "ready recordings", it changes to "what's new" instead of taking me 1 page down the list.
On my laptop it works like this: cursor right means changing to "what's new" and page down means scrolling down the list.

I have read that thread (I think I read the one to which you're referring) but I didn't see any workaround that you mentioned. Could I trouble you to point me more specifically to the part you're referring to?

Looking at WKleeven's logs on the other post, I don't see any improvement, sub didn't mention an MVP fix and it even looks like it crashed at exit.

These are the problems with the MVP remote I am still having:

1. My MVP crashes everytime when pushing the back/exit button when playing back a recording or a video.

2. When I am, for example, in video menu and I can see a list of video's, I can push "arrow down" to move 1 line lower but ">|" (which should take me 1 page down the list) doesn't work.

3. When I push ">|" in the recording menu, for example when in "ready recordings", it changes to "what's new" (just like "arrow right") instead of taking me 1 page down the list.

- For one, I mentioned that sub needs to look into that.

- I don't think skipping works like paging any more. You can now move by percent 1 = 10% 8 = 80% which is even better.
