Hi,

the web client stutters for me or it stops because it has not enough frames downloaded(atleast i think), is there a way to increase the buffer ?

And sometimes i get for almost every channel transcoder failed/exited, how can i fix this?

I have downloaded ffmpeg from https://ffmpeg.org/ and replaced ffmpeg but that did not fix it, i read that somewhere on the forum.

Without logs and some info on your system it's all but impossible to tell, but it's probably 1 of 2 problems. Either you're CPU is too slow to keep up with transcoding or you're network connection is too slow.

Try playing the stream thru VLC using : http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:8866/live?channel=XXXX

That will play the stream directly with no transcoding and will tell you if it's a CPU issue or a network issue.

Hi,

nextpvr version: 5.0.4.200428
my cpu is an i7 7820x 8 cores @4.2ghz got 64gb ddr4 ram rtx 2060 as gpu running windows 10
my internet speed is and i am using a localhost connection for testing but a connection from my local network has te same problems.

and i am using an iptv purchased subscription stream, i have tried 3 different providers which go trough xeev editor

i have used the nlite client with the installer on the forum, the installed client by installing nextpvr, i have been running vlc now for 8 minutes and i havent had trouble yet, but the others have also worked sometimes for more then an hour.

so my theory is that when there is a high demand on the iptv servers the stream slows down and then the buffer is too small

the logs

Is the web client your intended client of choice or is the theoretical? I would expect most users would use a direct play client, like NextPVR and Android, Apple, or Kodi clients for playback that may have better decoders than the browser has

You do have direct copy

2020-04-30 15:10:48.653 [DEBUG][49] [FFMPEG]: Stream mapping:
2020-04-30 15:10:48.653 [DEBUG][49] [FFMPEG]: Stream #0:0 -> #0:0 (copy)
2020-04-30 15:10:48.653 [DEBUG][49] [FFMPEG]: Stream #0:1 -> #0:1 (copy)

So I doubt the CPU is the issue. I have found that I have to pause the web client from time to time to stop stutter.

After that your server gave an permission error.

2020-04-30 15:11:06.012 [DEBUG][230] WebException: System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

So some of your URL's are bad you only have limited connections and you are out of them.

To expand on that ... When you watch Live TV, NextPVR Server saves the incoming stream to disk so that you can rewind Live TV.  You can pause Live TV and NextPVR Server will continue to write the incoming stream to disk during the pause ... The stream will begin playing from the position of the pause when you restart playing Live TV.  The effect of this is that you have control over the size of the buffer.  For example, you will have a one minute buffer if you pause for one minute and then restart playback.

To expand on the expansion. IPTV is internet streaming so there will be pauses it is not like capturing from a fixed rate h/w device. Many of us are watching more streaming video right now and we don't typically complain to YouTube or Netflix when video stutters and they use dedicated player with controlled buffering.
