Recording the same episode and renaming original/new episode

Hi all.
Have encountered a weird situation.
Have set Nick Jr. for "The Adventures of Paddington"
However, although it's showing S01EXX, but in the description at the end it shows S01EXXa or S01EXXb.
As such, NextPVR won't try and record the same episode that it already thinks it has...



In the list above it hasn't selected S01E07 which is this one


because if I go in to recordings it shows it already has S01E07 (which is S01E07b)



Is there any way of NextPvr being able to record the same episode, but renaming either the original one or the new one? 
I realise it would only be a rare case that this would happen...

That's a new one on me. You can do one-off recordings of them, but recurring recordings wont like it.

Splitting children's shows like this is quite common. SD typically break them in segments with each segment having a a different subtitle separated by semi colons. Thetvdb also creates pseudo episode numbers so each segment gets a unique show.

Realistically I doubt kids care about naming or missing episodes.

It'll work with Schedules Direct.

I'll have to think about best way to approach it with other guide sources.

Tunes0710 what formats are use seeing these split episodes in the show descriptions? ie "(S1 ep 7a)" is the example format above. Any others?

This is the only one I've come across so far, If I'm asked for any other children's series, I'll look in to the naming/numbering and let you know :-)

I've added some logic to the next build that should fix this.
