I just set up NextPVR with an Avermedia USB (for terrestrial) and a TBS5520sE for satellite (right now no dish motor - locked onto G19). I scanned channels. The one I was most interested it was 11842h 22000. It is a multiplex with over a dozen or more video feeds and some audio only. The channel scan picked up a few of them, but not most, including the ones I wanted most. I re-aimed the dish and got it better (although it was working on my hardware sat. rcvr already) and rescanned a couple more times, but no more channels were found. So I'm wondering what to do to get the rest. I mean its all the same carrier, I would expect all or nothing. Alternately can I manually enter the channel data somehow to avoid the need to scan?
A related question, it allocated some of the channels to subchannels of an existing terrestrial TV channel that was already in the database. That seemed strange. I now have 59.1 - 9, some of them terrestrial and some satellite. The front end doesn't care, but it sure looks strange!
And finally a less related question. I could not find any way to observe signal strength. Not so important for sat, as I use other means to align the dish, but my terrestrial signals come via various reflections and ducts that change by the hour and day and I need a rotator for them which needs to be peaked frequently.
