NextPVR UI black screen

I was watching a show with the NextPVR Roku test channel on my TV and then I hit the back arrow button to exit the show and the screen went black. I was able to recover by  long press * button then selecting my other (Windows) server, then went back to my Linux server and the gui was normal again. 

I posted the log in case you want to take a look. This event happened at the end of the log just before 20:00:00

You forgot the logs, but when sub has a chance to look, I say them earlier and they show NextPVR going into an endless error loop on Playback Stopped. Exiting and re-entering the session didn't help.

I believe my server was stuck in some state that caused the black screen. Even after exiting the app from the long * menu to get the gui back, it would still return the the black screen when exiting from a TV show.

The only thing that worked was to restart nextpvr-server. Haven't seen the black screen since.

My UI clients won't automatically create a new session when they log back in, they reuse the previous session id if it is still valid. In this case the session is valid so NextPVR let it in but then the crashing loop at

2021-03-23 20:00:33.941 [DEBUG][133] PLAYBACK_STOPPED@3.1.2 (0)

continues. I have seen this myself and in other logs.

Are you saying Long * Exit (not Long * Return) didn't work? That case was not in the log, but I do expect that would have killed the bad session ID and logged you in again.

That is correct it didn't work, at least not permanently. I got the gui back and I could watch TV but as soon as I exited the show with the back arrow the screen went black again.

Thanks getting the GUI and playback working is good which means my solution to get out of the loop from the client perspective is correct.

The issue that NextPVR is looping on reloading recordings and also crashing on stop is for sub.
