I am using Schedules Direct. Recent movies that I am recording are showing up with artwork in the web recordings list. Any shows that I recorded earlier do not have artwork.

Is there a way to get artwork to appear for the existing shows without clearing it for the shows that have it?

I  saw the command llisted below but I do not want to wipe out the artwork for the movies.

if you log into the web app at http://localhost:8866, then view http://localhost:8866/service?method=set...d.clearart, then on the Settings->About page do an 'empty epg' followed by an 'update epg', your artwork will begin functioning again.

I saw a post about artwork in C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\media\shows.

For example, for the show Friends I see files Friends.jpg, Friends.fanart.jpg, and Friends.landscape.jpg that are 1 kB and unreadable by my picture program. If I delete them then will NextPVR pick up new artwork? Or should I try making artwork by that  name?

There has been issues with SD artwork over the last couple of months. If you delete the files including the catalog.xml file and you have followed these steps https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=62902 then the next time you access those recordings NextPVR should attempt a download.

I have written a utility to clean out bad art but it will only work with the next version of NextPVR. Could your provide an example of one of those small jpg's I assume it is not art, possibly it is a message from SD.

Hi Martin,
I sent a private msg with text contents of bad .jpg files. They contained error msgs like exceeded maximum downloads in 24 hours during trial period or attempt using unknown account. All the bad downloads were during my trial period.

A few more questions.

If I empty the EPG schedule and update it again then will that cause problems with scheduled recordings that may start before the update is finished?

If I just delete bad .jpg files and catalog.xml files then go through procedure will it keep all the good artwork?

It is never good practise to do an EPG update while recording.

You need to follow bothl the steps to clean out the cache and to get new art. Its only TV after all.

Yes, if you delete them, it'll try recreating them (by downloading images and creating new catalog).

He  still should delete the cache or it will try and download the bad url's again.

Yes he should visit the url to clear the cached show artwork urls for schedules direct. http://localhost:8866/service?method=set...d.clearart

This only ever needs to be done once. You’ll not need to do it again (unless SD tell us to)

To be clear, this won’t effect artwork already in the ./media/shows directory. It’ll only effect next time it needs to download artwork.

When I try:
http://localhost:8866/service?method=set...d.clearart

then the following shows up in the page:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

As long as you get that "ok"response things are fine.
