I had to temporarily free up some space on my recording drive, and after I was finished I moved my recorded shows back into my default recording folder... However, now gbpvr does not recognize the episodes... When I click into the "Ready" tab, some shows are there, and some are not... Additionally, of the ones that are there, none will play.. They all read "Failed" in red text. Is there a way to get my shows back into gbpvr? Is it generally not a good idea to ever remove shows from the recording drive?

In looking at this further, it seems that when I moved the files, some of the permissions changed, but I can't figure out what the permissions are supposed to be in order to change them, and not sure if it's a folder permissions issue or a file permissions issue, or if that's totally unrelated.

If GB-PVR cant find the files for the recordings, it assumes you've deleted them, so it deletes the "recordings" from the GB-PVR.

In your case, when you moved your files GB-PVR assumed they had been deleted so removed these from the list of recordings.

Sorry, there is no way to get these back into the recordings screen.

I can't think of permission than would not let you play the file. Edit, move, etc, yes, but view/read is a basic, unless you have no privilages at all.

I have access to the files within the OS, that's not a problem. It's just that for some reason, within the same folder there are files with different permissions than other files in the same folder. I though this might have been the cause.

I was hoping I could them back into the recordings screen. Oh well.

Assuming you're talking about NTFS then right-click your recording folder, select properties then Security and give Everyone Full Control.

you can use xrecord set the video to the same path as your recordings and select merge in the config. You will see the files no data unless you did an export.
