I think I've got my system set up ok but I'm still seeing some random crashes.  I've been successful recording shows all week but had one fail early in the week and another today at 4pm.
Haven't messed with the transcoding yet and so far only tried recording one program at a time.

Raspberry Pi 4
HAUPPAUGE WinTV-DualHD
LibreElec, Kodi, Next PVR

Hoping you can look over the log and tell me if there are some settings I can tweak to make this system rock solid.

You have signal issues of some sort, external to NextPVR. This will require more than a tweak,

2023-11-28 20:19:53:058 [ERROR] Failed to start stream

Today's issue NextPVR did it's best and it tried both tuners

2023-11-30 15:59:07:097 [ERROR] Failed to start stream

then on the other

2023-11-30 15:59:16:201 [ERROR] Failed to start stream

There was what could be a crash in nrecord.log.2 that appears to be a too short a timeout but you may have just rebooted LE.

I don't know why thumbnail extraction and timing generation is running on your system. In LE this should be disabled, did you re-enable it? There is no value on an RPi4 to running these files, especially on a server designed to be used with Kodi so turn them off.

I don't think I enabled those setting, especially since I don't know what they are. Can you point me to where to go to fix them?
I found "Settings/Media/Videos/ Extract Chapter Thumbnails" which is enabled but not sure if this is the setting you are referring too.
I can't find anything about timing generation.

Yes that is one setting. Look up at the forum Search button it can be helpful. Timing has to be turned off in config.xml

cat ./.kodi/userdata/addon_data/service.nextpvr/config/config.xml

<Recording>
<ExtractThumbnails>none</ExtractThumbnails>
<GenerateTiming>false</GenerateTiming>

So there's a high probability I changed the Generate Thumbnail setting in NextPVR from "While Recording" to "After Recording" which is now set to "None" (as shown above)
But I have not previously edited the config.xml so I have no idea why GenerateTiming was true.

True is the default, sub might toggle it if you enable Thumbnails. This won't help your tuning issue but it will give you more resources.

What do you recommend to fix tuning issues?  I'm using a Yagi Antenna and only recording from NBC and CBS which are strong signals in my area.  I haven't tried to optimize the antenna placement yet since I'm still testing everything.
I haven't seen a built in signal strength meter so I'm just pointing the antenna in the general direction of the towers which seems to be fine when I'm watching live TV.

It is intermittent so you need to research why. At times the same frequency locked immediately
