I've just started using this so just learning, thanks for a product that actually records IPTV!

Did a couple recordings last night, both recorded so that a great start. Two issues.

One, the time on Kodi says both are 20 hour recordings when they are 2-2.5 hours. No big deal really, just wondering why that is? I'm tipping it's something to to with the stream having an issue while recording.

Sceond, the sound on one file won't work. Kodi says its an AC3 file but zero channels. It's from UK Sky Sports F1 channel.

Using a Shield pro and Vero 4K+.

Thanks for any help.

Both of these will come down to your IPTV provider. NextPVR is just recording an exact copy of whatever your IPTV provider is sending.

When it comes to misreported duration, this likely means your IPTV stream had timestamps that jumped forward at some point, rather than a clean clock that increased at a steady expected rate. (this can be something like the IPTV provider restarted something, or an encoder crashed, or they switched to a back up etc).

This come down to how your IPTV provider is encoding the audio. Usually they'd encode it to aac audio. Some encode to AC3. I've never seen channel with AC3 that contains no streams. (maybe kodi is misreporting it?)

It really depends we're you're trying to view it. Personally I'm using NextPVR on an LG TV. If you're on Android, you could try uidroid.

There is no best player and even then the player will work differently based on the OS and the chipset. The best thing is ensuring the source is good. You won't have much choice of Player on the Vero4K but even then Kodi from OSMC, CoreELEC and LibreELEC will all be different as will the version of Kodi.

Long IPTV files from an IPTV provider will probably give you the best change have having a bad recording. The no audio issue is normally issues at the beginning of the file

The duration could be timestamps anywhere in the file, there is no guarantee that any single recording could have good timestamps, since the source itself is often mean to be watched in real time. You might need to remux to mp4 or mkv to see if you get better playback and if that helps you probably need a post processing script. We'd probably need a link to sample of a bad file on an external site.

For the duration issue maybe run http://localhost:8866/service?method=rec...lter=ready and let know what duration NextPVR is reporting to Kodi (duration or duration_seconds) That should be clock time.

Thanks for the help.

So i didn't know there was a NextPVR add-on as part of kodi, i was taking the files from the web based app recordings and trying to play them on kodi. I installed through kodi and so far, all recordings have been great, not real issues at all. Still need to check some other channels but so far so good.

I'll try some more and see how it goes.

Just a question about the TV Guide, is there a way to add just one channel? It's painstaking to redo the whole thing with over 7000 channels, there was one i forgot to add when i did the channels i wanted.

When you go to the IPTV device you added, and click 'Update Channels', when it returns the list of channels, use the check box at the top of the list to uncheck all the channels. The just tick the single channel you want to add, and click save. It wont delete or change your existing channels.

If you've added 7000 channels, you're crazy. You're never going to watch that many. Cutting it down to a more realistic set of channels you'll really use will help keep it performing well. (like 100-200 or so)

Again, thanks for the help, i knew it wouldn't be that difficult.

No, i only have about 20 set-up as there are only a few i need/want to record.

I use Tivimate to watch live and have favorites set-up on that but the recording is very hit and miss.
