OSD/Skip Forward

I can see the score and the time on the clock as I skip, the OSD prevents that. I don't care about the dialog and can see if a commercial is playing. It's time shifting at it's fastest - lol.
If the score gets close, then I can start watching. Basketball is usually boring until the end. But sometimes I want to get a feel for a game without spending a lot of time watching.

My point was you were recording golf. If basketball was playing or going into overtime I'd move the thumbnails until the live point or the golf match after the talking heads or exit and resume and repeat later.

Thumbnails don't replace time, long and short skips it is just another option that has its place when comskip doesn't work especially with in progress sports.

I've updated to the new build and since it has reduced the OSD information on long skip forward or back, I tweaked it a bit to show only the timeline at the bottom of the screen with no background. So I'm good now.

I'll post the xml changes later if anyone wants them.

I don't recommend this if you need the onscreen mouse controls as they get removed. I don't use a mouse.

The file is: (make a backup first)
"C:\Program Files\NextPVR\data\skin\Default\Players\PlayerControls.xml"

Hopefully this is all you need.  (Red characters are the changes)
1 - I changed the position and size of the Info display (pause)
2 - Background2 is moved slightly lower on the screen (95) and half the height (10)
3 - xRect effectively cause the fill color to be ignored (same as deleting this line) 
4 - The timeline is moved lower on the screen (96)
5 - Disabled the menu and mouse controls (xControls)

I have disabled thumbnails, so I don't know if this causes issues with that functionality.

I intentionally made it show less stuff as per your request.

Remember to back up your file because skin fines get overwritten when there is a new release installed.

Player controls is crucial for thumbnails and yauiclient relies on it but the mini timeline is different. One of the changes some will miss in the upcoming 7.1.1 is the play pause toggle so it isn't just used for mousers.
