Hello,

I am on the current version of nextpvr on windows 10.  I haven't touched the system in a while since nextpvr in kodi, connects perfectly fine to the backend.  Everything works.  What I just realized is that I can no longer log into the web either on localhost or remotely via ip:8866.  My username and password are stored in the browser, but every time I click on login, it doesn't log me in and username and password in the web form disappear.  I primarily use firefox, but for giggles I tried chrome & then edge and they both do the same thing.  I have stopped and restarted the nextpvr service and lastly rebooted my machine.

Lastly, I tried on my mobile phone using brave browser (never logged in with the phone ever before) and it exhibits the same behaviour as the desktop browser.  Is there anything I can try?

The default login is 'admin/password'. Have you changed it from this default?

If you've changed it, and can't remember what you've set it to, you can edit the config.xml to set:

<Password>5f4dcc3b5aa765d61d8327deb882cf99</Password>

in the <WebServer> section. This will get it back to the original admin/password.

I tried this, exact same behaviour with all 4 browsers.  admin/password.  It's like the browsers "eat" the username and password and set the form back to a blank input.

Given you're the only person with this issue, maybe you've stored some incorrect password in your password manager to something.

If you try logging in with an incorrect username/password, it takes you back to the emptied login screen

I took your advice and changed in config.xml to <Password>5f4dcc3b5aa765d61d8327deb882cf99</Password> and restarted the nextpvr service and I get the same results.  Even resetting firefox didn't help.  I am at a loss.

I'm pretty sure you've got your browser remembering a bad password or something. Maybe look in its password storage, and remove the nextpvr one.

If you want to post the logs, I can see if I can tell you anything more. (though I don't think much is logged around this stuff)

Just an update.  There was/is nothing in the log as it relates to password.  My solution was to uninstall and reinstall then imported the recording-backup.xml from a day ago.  This was the only way I could get back in.

Observation, putting in incorrect password will actually say "login failed" right below the password input box.  I was not getting any message in the last install, so I don't know.  Issue resolved on my end for now.
