I have 2 IP TV sources and 4 OTA sources.  Both have channel 4.1 mapped and merged so channel 4.1 shows that it has 6 sources.

The 2 IP TV sources are at the top of the list under devices.

When I tune to 4.1 it is using the OTA tuner.

I can force it to use the 2 IP TV sources, but as soon as I reboot it reverts back to using the HDHomeRun Quadro OTA tuner.

What am I doing wrong?  OTA works 95% of the time, but more and more lately I am ending up with corruption in the recorded files so I want to default to the IP TV streams unless I need more than 2 recordings at the same time.

Live TV and recording priority are swapped by default so if recordings are failing it sounds like IPTV is your issue.

You'd probably have to show the logs reproducing the problem.

A couple of things though:
- the priority is top-down for recording, and bottom up for live tv.
- if you're using a device for live tv in NextPVR.exe and change channels, it'll prefer to stick to the same device if the requested channel is available on the same device (on the expectation it'll be quicker to just tune to another channel, rather than start another device up)

Thanks for the quick replies. I didn't realize the priority was reversed for Live, which is how I was testing it, so it is probably working correctly. I VERY rarely watch live.

I will test a couple quick recordings and make sure it works as expected. But I am sure it will now that I know that info.

One other quick question, the IP TV thing I am using is capable of streaming 2 simultaneous channels. Am I correct in assuming that I just need to duplicate the device to take advantage of that?

You should only need the device once, but set max-connections to 2 in that device's settings.

thanks. It is working as I want now.

Again - one more question Smile

If I wanted to make sure that certain channels took precedence on the IP TV Tuners, If I simply move any subscriptions to the top of the list, they will grab the tuners first, assuming one is available, correct? I would assume that if both tuners start recording something at 8 PM, for an hour long show, but something else wants to start recording at 8:30 and is only available on the IP TV tuners, that recording would fail. Hopefully that question makes sense. Or is their logic where the system will prioritize tuners in advance? I ultimately plan on moving more channels to the IP TV device, but there are certain channels (IE: SyFy and USA) that are ONLY available on the IP TV Tuner.

I am pretty sure you would need to prioritize recording rules if you want to guarantee specific shows. There is a thread on that here https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...g+priority I did have a video on doing it in Kodi but I never finished that due to lack of interest for users wanting to test it.
