NextPVR cannot find server with Wireguards

I am struggling with using the NextPVR app and Wireguard VPN enabled on the router. When I switch on Wireguard then I can access the NextPVR server (with the Android phone) on the home network using the browser (i.e. 192.168.1.5:8866) meaning access is working with Wireguard.
But when I try the app with the local server installed (IP: 192.168.1.5 and Pincode) then I get an error Failed to connect to NextPVR server. Why is that?

Only sub can support the dedicated Android app, but if you post you zipped logs we might have a clue how to help you.

How do I log from the android app?

Send the zipped NextPVR server logs and we can see if the connections is coming in and getting rejected. If it works with the VPN enabled we should see the WAN IP to compare, the PIN will be same same.
