Ok I just finished installing my second GB-PVR machine in the house, the all important living room PVR. Evrything works great except I'm not getting audio on about 1/3 of my channels. This is frustrating because the 1st GB-PVR I finished (I've done 8 or 9 of them in getting to the point where I felt it was ready for prime time) uses the same decoders (intervideo, NVDia and dscaler), the same soundcard (onboard via) and it's sound is perfect. The only difference between the two machines is the one where sound works on all the channels has a theater pro 550 whereas the living room pvr is using a hauppauge 150.
I've scoured the board and found where others using this card had similar issues but I haven't found any solutions. (I've tried the various audio/video combinations in config amd currently I'm running w/ live tv preview off)
Can anyone help?

Is it really the card? Can you switch the cards and see if it works better?

Well I suppose I could, although I hate the idea of taking down one fully working system and one 2/3 working system. I did try the driver update from shpvr (as per Capone's advice)....it made no difference. And based on the number of no sound from hauppauge 150 posts I've seen I have to lean towards that being the issue. Of Course I haven't seen where anyone really solved it (I think there was one I reinstalled from scratch sort of solution but to me that avoids what might be the real problem)

Do the channels in question work better in wintv2000? It could be a fine tuning issue. See this thread:

I did manage to repair sound in all the channels except 4 or 5 by deleting my capture source and reconfiguring it. I'm starting to suspect a decoder issue in spite of the fact that I'm trying the same one's others on here have mentioned (on some channels the audio is way out of sync).
So far I've tried NVDIA, Intervideo and dscaler. Does anyone have any other decoder suggestions?
I'm also looking into the fine tuning alternative but that's slow going for me. Thanks for the help so far. Smile
