GBPVR and ntl

hi guys
just accidentally dropped into this site and it seems fascinating..i think i got the bug to build a pvr.
my main requirements are that i am able to schedule recordings from an epg (ala serial link in sky+) from my samsung NTL cable box. will gbpvr do this for me and is there some way for gbpvr to change channels on the NTL box?
so
1. control ntl samsung box
2. record from epg data (and is this free for the uk)
3. is it stable

1. quite possibly with a pvr150 ir blaster or usb -uirt or red rat etc.
2. Yes use alan birtles xmltv download (do a search for it here as i cant remember the link)
3. For me with the pvr250 and usb2 pvr its solid as a rock but a little flaky on the BDA drivers for me but I'm sure its a setting on my os.
