Hi there; I just tried the PVRPowerTray, and seemed to run into the CPU usage issue too. I suspect my problem might be a symptom of some other issue though, and not PVRPowerTray. The SystemStatus plugin also uses an inordinate amount of CPU while showing the EPG summary. And I notice that my PVRPowerTray is constantly flipping between ? and Off once every second.

My suspicion is, that there's something triggering a continual update of the EPG summaries. Does anybody have any ideas what might cause this?

Hello again; well, after reinstalling a few times, and finally getting back to something that seems to be running normally; it looks like PVRPowerTray is still running a bit hungry on the CPU... spiking at about 60%. It seems to me, that this loading is due to EPG or Pending size. It seemed to be running reasonably light, until I pumped the EPG up to my usual 15 days, and added in all my recordings (15; yeah I watch too much tv!!).

thats the 'problem'... the PVRPowerTray app (AFAK) cycles through all recordings to check one (or more) are running.

paraLED (which displays recording status and some other info by LEDs hooked up to the parallel port) did the same thing first, resulting in consuming a lot of cpu. thats the reason i changed it to use the RecordingStatus.bat-feature sub included a couple releases ago.
