So I just moved into a new apartment with a differt cable provider. So I went to set up the new channels, but I cant even delete the old channels.... Also the new channles are now listed higher up in the wrong order... can anyone tell me how to delete the line-up and start fresh???? I tried to uninstall the program and reload it, but it still didnt work.... Thanks!

To allow me to do a full channel rescan I recently deleted and then re-created my tuner card entry. Then I found out in the docs this can cause a loss of 'already recorded' program/show details (which I think is fixed in recent versions) but I too found this part of the dialog options limiting. But it did the job of re-indexing/re-placing the channel list, perhaps the hard way.

Maybe it can be done in config/dbase entries manually but that too I expect would be dangerous.

I would like a Delete entry, next to the Add entry and the ability to re-order the entries in this section.

They in gbpvr.mdb which is an access database.

The only way to delete channels is by removing and recreating your capture source. This can be done using the config app, so you should need to delve into the mdb file where you run the risk of breaking things.

How are you at editing relational databases by hand? In particular you'll need MS Access and the file is gbpvr.mdb (you'll need to stop the recording service before opening it).

I've done this myself but can't remember what order I did it in - I think I had to edit at least two of the tables (possibly three) in a particular order (due to the relational nature of the DB).

That's all I can say - the rest would be guessing at what I did (it was maybe 6 months ago). Make sure you keep a backup copy of the DB if you're going to try it - you can always copy that back in place if things go wrong.

Cheers,
Brian

Yeah - as sub says, you could break things so if you're not confident with this stuff then don't do it. Not that I'm trying to absolve myself of responsibility here or anything... Smile

If you decide to delete/recreate your capture source you might want to Export your existing recordings first using the button on the Plugins page in Config.

Cheers,
Brian
