Hi,
I just brought home my new Hauppauge PVR150 and downloaded GB-PVR, but I keep getting various errors throughout the configuration process... I tried both versions 0.93.10 and 0.92.11 with the same results.

The first one occurs when the config utility launches:
Exception: No error information available: REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG(0x80040154)

I click Continue and it lets me through, but I get another error when I "CLICK HERE" to register for Zap2it (Exception: The system cannot find the path specified)... and again when trying to exit the config utility (System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: index). I'm forced to click Cancel and lose all of my settings.

I used the default path for the installation and there don't appear to be any problems with my hardware installation.

If anyone has any ideas I'd really like to use this program, I'm not sure why I'm having these issues!

Thanks,
Mark

I've never heard of this error before, but given the "DB" in the error message it makes me the database access components on your machine are broken. You could try reinstalling the Microsoft data access components (MDAC): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...laylang=en

Actually, might be worth posting your config.exe.log first in case there is any useful error messages.

As directed, I tried reinstalling MDAC and I also installed SP1 for the .NET 1.1
I still get the exact same error messages after a fresh GB-PVR install.

I attached my config.exe.log file after purposefully causing all of the errors I got before.

Thanks for any help!

All those error messages in your log look like your data access components arent functioning on your machine. Other than reinstalling MDAC, I dont know what else might help.

Try googling for 'REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG MDAC' and see if it turns up any answers for you.

I just noticed that the latest version of MDAC is 2.8. The link you provided me was for MDAC 2.6, which is what I installed, although Microsoft's info for MDAC 2.6 doesn't list Windows XP as a compatible OS. Should it make a difference which version I have on?
I will try replacing 2.6 with 2.8 when I get home tonight.

So just to recap, I need to have MS .NET 1.1 and MDAC 2.x installed?
Is it necessary to have .NET 1.1 SP1, and is there a specific version of MDAC needed?

Also, I googled my error message and came across some mention of JET. Is there anything I should verify with regards to that?

Thanks

Try 2.8.

If you have a clean install of XP, then you only need to add .NET 1.1. XP already inclues a compatible version of MDAC. In your case these components do seem to be functioning correctly though.

No, you need to have SP1 if you dont want to. Any working verison of MDAC should be fine.
