OK, for the last 5 months I've been using each new release of gbpvr. It works great, except that about 15 of my channels are pure static. I know I can go and manually enter in the frequencies but it seems to cause crashing when there are too many manually tuned channels. I'm going to give it a try again, but I need someone to point me to a web site that lists channel frequencies for Canada. For the life of me I can't find one, and I've been searching for months. Please help, or offer some suggestions as to why I have so many poorly tuned channels. Thanks.

there are two ways to 'fine-tune' outside of gbpvr:

1.)
the frequencies for the channels are stored in the regeistry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\TS0-0

you can edit the values stored as hex. be sure to select the 'decimal' before changing the frequency.

2.)
config your channels in wintv and use FreqCopy to copy them to the above location in the registry.
AMD 1600mHz, 512 M RAM, 20+160 GB drive, Hauppauge PVR-350 + PVR-150 + PVR-150MCE, Win XP Pro SP3, using software decoding.

I've tried freqcopy and perhaps I am using it wrong. Wintv2000 is all auto tuned. I haven't changed anything on it since I installed it. I get every channel as clear as can be. I then used freqcopy and it didn't seem to effect gbpvr at all.

There is a third way, probably the easiest one if you know the frequency you want. You can then enter the frequency directly in the config app, instead of channel number.

Rsenio, are you sure it's a tuning problem? When I first got my PVR150 (not MCE) I thought it was a tuning problem as well, since all my channels looked bad with the lower channels especially worse. I was about to go your route but decided to just exchange it and the problem was fixed.

Might I suggest you go and "borrow" a card from someone and see if that makes a difference? If this is fixes the problem then you should RMA the part.

I am on Rogers cable with four outlets being used so I can't say the signal into my house is especially strong.

FYI, that huge tin can on your card have many exposed inductor windings that are tuned by hand. As much as breathe on them the wrong way and things can go wrong. That was why I chose to get a replacement rather than try to fix it myself in software.

I thought it may be a card issue as well. But it is brand new. WinTV2000 looks fine though, except that the software functionality is garbage. Thats why I went the GB-PVR route. I can enter in the frequencies manually, but I need a site that lists these frequencies.

I'm sorry, I didn't read your post correctly. It clearly states you know that you can enter the frequencies by hand :-) Have you tried the TuningAssistant? I think you can get it to show the frequencies for each channel.

The tuning assistant doens't want to work very well for me. For example, The first channel (2) it stops on because it's found a signal. But the channel is wrong, yet the audio is correct. It's almost as if it's tuning 2 channels together. Either way, it works but not for the channels I am having the original problem with.
