Has anyone tried the KWorld MCE200 Multimedia Card with GBPVR? It has a hardware MPEG2 encoder on board. Here's the specs:

Here's a fairly close-up photo of the board for the more techie types who would be able to tell from the chipset:

I'm only asking because it's currently on tremendous sale at Buy.com for only $29.99 after $50 mail-in rebate. My son is a little jealous of my GBPVR system, but he only has a lowly software based Hauppauge card in his system. I though this might be a cheap way to get him up and going with a nice GBPVR system. Heck, it even comes with a remote control.

At that price, I don't mind buying and trying if no one knows for sure that it will NOT work.

Thanks for any input!
Chris

I've never heard of anyone using this card, so I cant say for sure its compatible with GB-PVR.

I suspected that would be the answer, because KWorld doesn't usually produce hardware encoding cards.

For that price, I might give it a try. If it works as a PVR250 clone or whatever, would you like for me to send one to you for further review (like in case you ever get bored or something -- haha)?
