I'm actually looking into this for a friend who recently purchased an ATI all-in-wonder card. I have a feeling that this might be covered in the site somewhere but I haven't been able to find a definitive list of which cards are supported. If anyone can advise whether this card is supported at all, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

Sorry, no this card isnt supported.

You *might* be able to get it to work with this plugin http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=2753&page=65, but you'd be better off with a supported card like the Hauppauge PVR150 or ATI 550 Pro

Has anyone actually gotten it to work using that plugin? I use the Hauppauge 500 with 100 % satisfaction myself, btw. Just trying to guide a newbie friend.

I used to have an AIW 9600 pro. The best and the only free 3rd party front end I found that worked was the old myHTPC. Even then it just launched the application.

It worked really well for 1 year until my TV out crapped out. Basically, myHTPC had an XMLTV EPG and someone wrote a script that launched the ATI MMC TV. It's not as sophisticated as GBPVR, but it was able to record shows one time, keep the information, sort it and check for conflicts. I wrote some further scripts to keep the number of season ticket recordings to a manageable level.

There were some quirks, but even my wife got used to the interface.

If you want more information email me at jam_zhou at yahoo.com.

The best software for AIWs is ShowShifter. It is not free, and it has not been very much developed over the last year, but it works quite well with the limited hardware. You have to live without being able to watch recordings while recording, and timeshifting does not work very well.
