I was browsing today and stumbled over a few so I thought I'd ask. I don't have any direct experience myself but they certainly sounded "too good to be true" :-) I suspected from looking at 'freedvddirect.com' that they were file sharing portals more than anything.
I have seen an offer recently from "StarzTicket" which is apparently a play-per-pay system from Starz the cable movie outfit. But these appear to be usage-encoded so storing them is pointless.
