I have now run nlite V5 under Windows and nlite does display in 4:3 and not 16:9 so I have replicated that problem

When watching Live TV ... I pressed ... down arrow ... and a list of channels appeared and I was able to select a channel ... also, the + and - keys worked to change channels.
