I created a brand new folder for .52 and started out with just the .52 executable; so all the files in that folder were generated from .52. In the same computer, I have a separate working folder for .45, and that works fine.

Ok, that's the problem. Starting with .52, it does not generate all of the files necessary, you have to unzip all of the files contained in the .zip download for it to work. This was done so that the end user could have more control over the transform file, and it wouldn't be over-written automatically.
The error you got basically says it can't find the transform file 'Autobots Transform.xml'
I see the other files in the zip now. Thanks for the help. I will try again when I get off work this afternoon.
Update: Works perfectly now. Thanks drlava.

drlava,
Forgot to mention that the system I installed was a Win2k PC and it needed MSXML 4 to run this program. You may want to add a note to your download page.

floydy,
Try this. Go here: http://planetreplay.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=14314 In the first post, you should see a link with the word "Download here". Click it to download the software. Unzip it to a directory in your hard drive: c:\MSN_XMLTV You should see 3 files. Run the .exe file to see the GUI interface of this program First, enter your zipcode and click "Get Providers", the "Provider" box will be populated with all the providers for this zipcode. Select the one that want and a new tab with the name of your service provider will show up. Select that tab and select/deselect the TV channels for this provider. Go back to the "Control" tab and click on "Save Settings" and then "Download Listings". It will take a while, but if successful, you will see a new XML file in c:\MSN_XMLTV with something like this for the name xxxx-XMLOut.xml. This file is to be used by GBPVR. Start GBPVR configuration and edit your "Capture Source". In the "EPG Source", select "XMLTV Plugin", then click on "Settings". A dialog box will pop up asking you to select an XML file. Click "Browse" and select the xxx-XMLOut.xml file that was generated in the previous step. Click Ok to all dialog boxes to finish the configuration. Now start GBPVR to see if your listings are correct. If your listings are correct, you can automate the listing retrieval by creating/editing a file named "UpdateEPG.bat" in the GBPVR directory (C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr). This batch file should contain a line like this one: "C:\MSN_XMLTV\MSN_XMLTV_scraper_V.52.exe" /s Settings.xml /d /c Now every time GBPVR updates EPG, it will run this util first and then update the database with the latest listings. If you run into problems, just ask and one of the kind folks in this forum will undoubtedly help out. Good luck.

I was having problems with yap2xml so i thought I'd give this utility a try.
I get a listing file and I can bring it into GBPVR and it shows the channels, but I get no listings populated in the guide. Any ideas? I tried it with a smaller sampling of channels and still no dice. I've enclosed the output file and the logs from GBPVR. I'm trying to get a dish network configuration setup. I'm using v54 of the scrapper and 0.99.12 of GB-PVR. |
