It sounds like the same problem that baccardi84 is getting. If you use your exisiting TV app to choose antenna instead of s-video or composite does it help? I need to add this in the next version to choose the right input.

The TV App is setup to use Cable but I will check to make sure. I use the PowerVCRII to record my show on Fridays. Have you looked into the saving issue. This is not the first time I ran into this. If you setup a device with all the setting then exit the config program. When you restart reset the device with something esle (This includes the audio) exit the config then restart check you setting you will see that they are the origional settings.

I checked my PowerVCR is set to TVtuner and Cable TV when I go into GBPVR the screen goes black and if I hit a key I get a message saying my device is not functioning which is not true because PowerVCR works fine.

I have included the GBPVR logs

Thanks

Cable: ahhh, yes. At the moment I force it to use antenna (i will add selection option in the next version for cable/antenna and tv/composite/s-video).

Saving issue: I will have a look but I expect it is a gb-pvr issue not a recording plugin issue. I will try and replicate it (otherwise maybe make it happen and upload all the config logs) you can look in the registry under local_machine\software\gbpvr\softwarerecorder for the saved settings.

Device not functioning: This will happen if another program is using the TV device. I assume that PowerVCR was open while you were trying this?

I will try it with the antenna to see if this helps. I belive I closed PowerVCR but it's possible something is still running.

Build 10 now supports cable/antenna section, country selection, and tv format (pal/nstc) selection. previous versions just used antenna/default/default. It might also support S-Video/Composite/Tuner selection although I might push that back to Build 11 so that people can starting using cable sooner [Image: smile.gif]

(Wll post build 10 in the next few days)

I'm actually not sure what card this plugin will work with. (I know it works with my FlyVideo). I'm hoping that as more and more people try it out, I can add functionality to help make it more compatible with new cards. The plugin will be using the standard WDM interfaces that windows provides only and I will not be adding any card specific interfaces. (Of course If a specific card uses the standard interfaces in a certain way I'm happy to cater for that).

With the AM turning interface that windows provides you can only pick antenna or cable as a selection. Additionally you have to choose your country so it can map the channel number provided by gb-pvr to a frequency. To select your channel numbers you need to edit them in the capture source screen (the one with the update EPG button at the bottom). The channel numbers in the list are used for tuning.

The mpeg encoder is used for Recording and non-Preview LiveTV. At the moment the plugin searches for 'MPEG2 Video', 'MPEG Audio' and 'Muxer' as the three required components to compress the data to disk. The moonlight bundle has components which satisfy the search. I have not tried the Mainconcept package yet, although I do have it downloaded.

The GB-PVR config screen will only list _de_compressors that are found in the config.xml file and on your system. (Personally I have had to add mine because they are named 'Cyberlink Decompressor for Dell'Wink.

If anyone can get a working GraphEdit setup for their capture device and sends me a screenshot (don't send the .grf file - It's specific to your computer). I can attempt to code for your case. (GraphEdit 9 would be usefull because it color-codes the devices, but GraphEdit 4 will work all the same)

Just like to let you know, the plugin works beautifully with my ECS EZ-TV TVP3XP tuner, and appreciate your work! I can finally use this great program!

tipstir: Are you trying Recording, LiveTV Preview or LiveTV non-Preview mode (the mpeg is only used in non-preview and recording)? Can you load lastgraph.grf and send a screenshot (both drivers if possible - i know it's a pain to switch).

recently i've been trying the phillips reference drivers for my card to see if they're more stable than the vendor drivers (seems that they are in fact _more_ buggy). so post that testing I will be trying out the mainconcept mpeg software to see if it will work.
