DVB-S card Software vs Hardware decoders

What benefits would one have using a hardware decoder card vs a software decoder.?
Anyone with hands on experience?
I have a TT1500 Budget http://www.tt-pc.com/2763/TT-budget__S-1500.html

thinking of a TT-2300 http://www.tt-pc.com/2782/TT-premium__C-2300.html

all dvb-s is digital so need to hardware decode the computer just saves as is
hardware decoding is for analog signal that has to be changed into a digital file ie the video input

so just get the budget one unless you want to capture from set top box or a old video camera
