The "(broken plugin loading pass through)" is because the GB-PVR plugin code detects and loads the wrong type of classes in the plugin. (It'll still work, but sub needs to change some code in the GB-PVR core to remove the error message).
You need to add the recording source, then Save and Exit the config app. When you come back in you'll be able to edit the settings. This is a limitation of how the plugin architecture works, and requires changes in the GB-PVR core to fix.
Before I go out of the capture source creation, it requires me to setup Zap2it. I set it up and then try to go out and save. I then have to update EPG, then I am asked to save the capture source. I then go out of config and come back in. When I come back in, the capture source is gone.
I guess I don't have the order right or something, otherwise it is just not saving the capture device.
OK, I have .97 and the new plugin. Can't seem to get even "Live TV" to work. I believe I have set up everything as described. Using ATI AIW Radeon, TV input works through ATI software.
I get:
"Error: Value does not fall within the expected range"
I use overlay playback becaue I thought that was the most generic, VMR 9 Custom was giving a different error. I do not know how I developed this error but from the time of install and configuration I normally would just get a black screen and the audio from the channel. The audio would continue playing even though GBPVR had been closed. I thought it was because it was trying to use the composite as source and audio card Line IN as audio source.
Can get back to just a black screen and sound to try a VCR giving it composite in. Not sure how to get rid of the error, tried reinstalling, and it just kept reproducing.
workin great for me...tho no ati usb 2 yet but it does work thru s-video inputs and i just got a mce remote blaster so that should work nicely..
my pinnacle pctv pro works just fine tho both preview and rec.
any thoughts about setting the directshow filter properties? would love to get the compression settings going..i found some code but still trying to get it to work with my limited knowledge..
thanx for the update tho...and UBU too for his help...his plugin is really nice now..i have an old 3dfx voodootv card i'm gonna try it with...[no drivers ever made, have to use the generic bt8x8 ones] and let ya know how that comes out,to add to the list..last version didn't work so well with those drivers for me on either card..
This plugin seems to be very sensitive. I have installed it a number of times using a new (fresh) install of 97.7. I install plugins one at a time (check_email_3.4 is a problem--I found that any plugin that changes the CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll stops it from working) and back up the gbpvr folder every time I install one.
I'm using an ATI AIW 9000 Pro card. At some point, like when I manage my system so that I can get to networked shared folders, the plugin stops working (it seems to take over the TV card and doesn't let it go--when this happens, ATI can't get to the card either). When I close out everything and restart gbpvr, I still can't watch TV (I now can with ATI program). The MVP tells me I can't watch a TV program. When I go back into config, the plugin settings for Video Composite, tuner, and S-video are blank and grayed out.
Once I have managed my system to so that I can use network shared folders, then it doesn't work anymore.
Logs would be helpful too. I'm not quite sure how many times I've said that but it's in BIG BOLD letters in post #1 and on the wiki. I'm not psychic you know.
