Frinky77,

Did you get the analog side of the HDTV Wonder Card to work? I can't get past the setup because I get an error that I am using the same pin for video and audio. How did you get past that?

I have the digital side working but would love to get the analog working.

Hah, no way do I want another ATI Card. Those things are the bane of my existance. When I bought it nobody I knew had TV Cards. The ATI had gotten pretty good reviews, and I liked the HDTV aspect of it so I bought it. It was on sale at newegg I think for $140. A little pricey, but for HDTV support as well as regular TV it seemed like a deal.

The day it was supposed to arrive from FedEx tracking, my wife was home from work. She had to leave the house at 4pm, the package was delivered by fedex at 4:30pm, and I raced home to try it out at 5pm. When I got home a neighbor came over and told me some kid had stolen a package off my porch and they had called the police. Arrghh!

So my wife and I decided there was no way we were getting that card back because some dope was probably selling it for drug money or something and I wanted to get one while it was still on sale so I ordered another one. Well, next day someone shows up at my house with a package they found in their backyard with my address on it. So apparently the thief opened it, had no idea what it was or got scared and dumped it. Now I was getting two $140 cards.

My wife said we should give the new card to her brother as a gift rather than send it back. He's computer savy and all, but man, my $140 "deal" now turned out to cost $280. And on top of that everyone else I know went and got Happagues which work better with every homebrew application out there.

Whew, just had to vent. I've been holding that in for 2 years.

Ah Bigbus01, I have seen that same message about the pin already being in use. To be honest, I am really not sure what configuration I have things set up as. I had a really hard time figuring out what each field meant, but the drop down menus didn't have many options to choose from, so I just tried different combinations until one gave me live TV, and recorded sound and video.

This is pretty much the settings I am using:

http://frontiernet.net/~eschmann/PVR/wor...chonly.gif

Exccept I have the "Recording and Playback Use the Same Mixer" box checked too now.

Is that what you have tried? Maybe between the two of us we can figure this out. My current issue is that sometimes I see a quick sound/video speed up in my recordings. Kind of like when a VCR tape would hiccup for a second. I think I must have something on my PC doing something that pegs the processor for 2 seconds and upsets the software recording. If only I could configure this to use the hardware encoding. I think it could be mcafee or my DSL connection doing a ping or something.

Frinky77,

Interesting thing, I got it to work but found that if you use ATI's software to watch or record tv using the analog channels, then GBPVR cannot obtain audio from the S-video connector (ATI dongle--where my set top box is). Once you tune the ATI software back to S-video, then the audio works again. When the audio doesn't work, you get very loud static (I think it is tuned to channel 1 which doesn't exist on my cable box).

I have a kobian mercury card, which is an oem product of lifeview and I think is a flyvideo2000 with a different tuner.

The card works with the mercury/lifeview software and it works with the snapstream beyond tv software. I can get the video to play using the wdm recorder, but I can't get it to record.

I have tried a number of encoders and muxers, and some of them will just make the recordertest fail but others will seem to work, but then produce files that are either 0kb or 2kb.

Am I doing something wrong. I'm attaching the most recent log. I'm not sure what else to do.

Wow... that was a lot to hold in for 2 years! LoL Big Grin

I think I am going take my old ATI TV Wonder Pro and toss it in my main computer. That way if the GB-PVR system is using the tuner I can always record something else on my main system and transfer to the GB-PVR rig so I can watch it in the living room. Atleast the ATI card will get used, even if it does suck! LoL

This is the same issue I was having with an ATI TV Wonder PRO.... I gave up on it and bought a PVR150MCE. They are $68 shipped on Newegg

Well I didn't really want to bother anyone with this since it seems like it's hit and miss but my error seems a bit on the odd side...

I got the latest gbpvr from the site, I installed the latest software recoder. I have an ATI AIW9600pro.

I had to replace the DLL to get the WDM driver to show

I open config.exe and goto Capture Sources to set my card up. I press the add button and select the WDM as my recording source. I click on settings and it immediately tells me I need to save the capture source first then configure the settings.

I hit ok, and I see a form splash on the screen but it disappears pretty much immediately.

So my problem seems to be that I can't even save the capture source. Any ideas?

Thank you.

PS: I was playing the recordertest.exe file and I can get it to preview fine but the recording keeps generating some exception error. I really don't care actually, I just want to be able to watch first Smile

Just thought I'd drop a line to say that I've got another card working. The Asus My Cinema-P7131 (of ASUSTeK Silicon BDA Video Capture according to windows).

Thanks! The included PowerCinema is compete trash and I haven't found any other usefull software that supports the card. I'm running a Athlon XP 3000+ with the ATI MPEG2 coded and it runs great without maxing out the CPU.

ynohtna, what you are experiencing is normal I think - I'm still running 96.XX. Once you've selected the WDM plugin and it asks you to save the settings, you need to actually get out of the config application completely and come back in. Then you can actually get to configuring the card. It took me about two weeks of tweaking the plugin to get mine working.

BTW you won't be able to get live preview working. The plugin only works in timeshift mode for the AIW.
