Just something to try: Edit your Capture Source, click "Empty EPG" and then click "Ok"; then click "Ok" at the main "GBPVR Configuration" screen. The recording service will be restarted. Now go back to edit your Capture Source and click "Update EPG". This has helped me in the past; not sure if it's gonna help you though.

V.54 seems to have screwed my GBPVR schedule.
The channels are out of order and therefore records the wrong shows.

I did a complete re-install ( Yes deleted my directory after un-install)
SO I went back to .52 and it is working?

Any one else have this problem?
Also does anyone else have to re install every update.
I was getting multiple channel line up everytime I change the XML file location.

Thanks
Brad

Thanks. This works. The only thing is I didn't have a "UpdateEpg.bat" in my gbpvr folder, I did have instead "PostupdateEPG.bat". So I created one and added the string you mentioned. The thing is, should I have added the string into my PostupdateEPG.bat file instead?
Thanks again for your help
mpham64 Wrote:floydy,

Try this.

Go here: http://planetreplay.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=14314
In the first post, you should see a link with the word "Download here". Click it to download the software.
Unzip it to a directory in your hard drive: c:\MSN_XMLTV
You should see 3 files. Run the .exe file to see the GUI interface of this program
First, enter your zipcode and click "Get Providers", the "Provider" box will be populated with all the
providers for this zipcode. Select the one that want and a new tab with the name of your service provider
will show up. Select that tab and select/deselect the TV channels for this provider.
Go back to the "Control" tab and click on "Save Settings" and then "Download Listings".
It will take a while, but if successful, you will see a new XML file in c:\MSN_XMLTV with
something like this for the name xxxx-XMLOut.xml. This file is to be used by GBPVR.

Start GBPVR configuration and edit your "Capture Source". In the "EPG Source", select "XMLTV Plugin", then
click on "Settings". A dialog box will pop up asking you to select an XML file. Click "Browse" and select
the xxx-XMLOut.xml file that was generated in the previous step. Click Ok to all dialog boxes to finish the
configuration. Now start GBPVR to see if your listings are correct.

If your listings are correct, you can automate the listing retrieval by creating/editing a file named
"UpdateEPG.bat" in the GBPVR directory (C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr). This batch file should contain
a line like this one:

"C:\MSN_XMLTV\MSN_XMLTV_scraper_V.52.exe" /s Settings.xml /d /c

Now every time GBPVR updates EPG, it will run this util first and then update the database with the latest listings.

If you run into problems, just ask and one of the kind folks in this forum will undoubtedly help out. Good luck.

new update posted. It changes back the channel ID to be the channel number, when you use the /c switch (same as pre-.50 operation).

sorry for the inconveninences in re-loading your channel lineup, hope you like the email feature!

I believe that "UpdateEpg.bat" is the right place to run this utility. This is run PRIOR to GBPVR taking the output XML file and stuff the data in the database; so you would want the XML to be the most up-to-date. Anything in "PostupdateEPG.bat" is run AFTER GBPVR has populated the database.

I like the email feature. Would be nice if there's an option to get an email regardless of a pass/fail result. At least initially after each revision, I'd like to know that the utility does get run, and run successfully. Then when I'm confident that everything is ok, I can turn the email off.

I have tried this and although it looks very promising, and I have read all the details instructions, I keep getting a blank EPG.

The channels are there, but no program listings.

The downloaded xml file has the programs.

I have tried 12 days (30 MBs) to 5 days (10MBs) with the same results.

Any thoughts on what I should try next?

I really hate doing a full reinstall of GBPVR but I will try that next I guess. I am using 99.12, but prefer older version, but lost the files.

My computer is pretty powerful, so i should be at the newest level and I guess this will give me the excuse, but I always hate starting from scratch because of the multiple PVR's I have.

Also, i should add, that the log says /s is not a valid switch when i use it in the updateepg.bat (but it does update it)

When you specified the "Settings.xml" file using the /s option in UpdateEPG.bat, did you use the full path for it or just "Settings.xml"?

Hi,

Maybe you can enlighten me.
I run the 55 version, I completely re-install GBPVR
Ran 55 and got the file needed for import.
All was fine. I then scheduled my shows all fine.
But when I update the file every night it screws up my channels, basically keeps adding another channel line up?

I have complete EPG update checked in the GBPVR menu. Do you think this is the culprit?

Thanks for any help
