Hi,

I am pretty noob to gbpvr... I did search before posting, and I have not found something similar to what is happening to my system.

I have a sabrent SBT-TVFM, based on the Phillips chipset SAA 7130
http://www.sabrent.com/Drivers/SBT-TVFM.htm.

Using the WDM/MPEG2 plugins I am able to see live TV; when it comes to recording I get a recording failed message. The recording logs indicate
Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040217.
This also happened to somebody on the forum who didnt have the muxer. I did check and it is installed.

Then I get a nasty long error message that starts with "at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ThrowExceptionForHRInternal(Int32 errorCode, IntPtr errorInfo)
at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ThrowExceptionForHR(Int32 errorCode)..."

Attached are the logs

Thanks a lot for your help

The plugin works for some cards and does not work for others. Some have gotten working perfectly with an ATI TV Wonder PRO... but I never could after trying for a month. Sad For whatever reason, some cards work and some don't.

I went out and bought a Huappuage PVR150, no tuner card issues since...

... I was wondering if there was a way to debug what was happening, I get the feeling I am a setting away of having it working...

That would be a question for normanr who wrote the plugin, as I really don't have any idea.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I have my TV Wonder PRO in my main pc now, and I use it strictly for watching live TV while I am on the system. If only I were a setting a way from being able to record, now that would make me happy!!!

Remoreseless,

See what the last graph was in the gbpvr diretory - called lastgraph.grf. Make sure that you have it turned on in the config.xml file.

If you need to donwload graphedit.exe - google it. Load up the graph and see what's wrong with it. Play around with it - I learned a lot doing so. If it truly is borken then you can try and fix the graph to tell us what the problem is.

Also, if you want to show it to people on the forum then post jpgs not the actual file.

"You're getting error 0x80040217, Google thinks that this maybe is an issue with your drivers. What Renderer are you trying to use (Overlay/VMR7/VMR9/VMR9Custom) and have you installed the latest DirectX? Have you installed an mpeg-2 compressor?"

I'm back! It's been a crazy summer, and I had to abandon this for a while. Can anyone tell me how to determine the renderer I'm trying to use? I have no idea... My card is an MSI nx6600. I know the video-in works because I downloaded a trial of WinDVR and got video just fine. (I just hate their software.)

As for the other two questions, I have DirectX 9.0c, which I believe is current, and have not installed an mpeg-2 compressor. Should I? (BTW, I'm running Win2K.)

Thanks! (BTW, the post I'm referring to here, with my logs, is on page 102.)

You select which renderer you want to use on the playback tab of the config app.

Sorry, I cant answer that. I'm not familiar with this plugin. I should say though, save yourself the hassle and just get a supported card like the PVR150 or ATI 550. They're pretty cheap these days and work well without the need for any plugins.

Heh - right. Sorry. I was originally on VMR9; however, I tried all the others and got the same result when trying live TV - "no tuners are available to watch the requested channel."

Well, #1 I paid money I didn't really have for this card - can't afford another any time soon. #2 I've had so many issues with this machine and conflicts between added video cards and the onboard video that I don't want to add a third card into the mix. I just got the MSI in order to replace my ATI that gave me all the problems. :-(

Sorry, I'm just being honest. It just seems like way too much hassle trying to get a non-supported card working.
