If you use ffdshow, you can tell it resize all AVI files to 640x480, and they'll play fullscreen.

After months..I decide to give GBPRV yet another go. I see we have the same old problems: can't play avi, has diificulty seeing network drives, mapping channels is terrible and no clear documentation for installation. Time to uninstall again.
What could have been a great product is missing too many key items. Shame

I'm not forgetting your comments on the other forum. As far as I'm concerned you can go fuck yourself, and I'm glad GB-PVR doesnt meet you needs.

I'm curious as to what efforts you have put yourself to, to help address these issues? Also, have you worked in the Open Source/Freeware community before? Harsh "constructive" criticism is expected. Comments like "it does not work" are completely useless and are treated with the respect they deserve. I see from previous posts you could not get some AVI's to play. Unfortunately your post lacked information as to what AVI's did not play, or the ones which did play. Personally I do not create AVI's from movies, or want to - guess I am stuck in the betamax world and am missing the future - so this is not a big issue to me. The network drives issue, well generally this is user issues in configuring your windows environment to work correctly. Lets not forget that Windows operating system has issues and is prone to bouts of madness, but Sub has commented before on the networking side of things - search the forums for answers. Mapping channels, what is your problem? Explain, get assistance and maybe you can contribute to documentation where you believe it is lacking. If all you say is "It does not work" then expect people to react negatively towards you, especially when on other forums you complain bitterly about GBPVR. I hope you do find software out there that meets your needs but I think the majority of people here like GBPVR and find it pretty easy to use - its a shame you have sullied your name and not given this community a chance to get the software up and running for you, Cheers, Colin.

Not to change the subject but this might be the right thread for this bunch of questions.
I have my clearance priced MVP. I have it up and working with GBPVR. Mpeg2 playback works. I have not tried Live TV or currently recording TV yet. Here is the questions I would hope someone can help answer. For AVI (xvid) playback, Which I can't get to work. According to this thread I looks like I should remove my divx codec and install FFDShow. Is FFDShow a full standalone codec? From what I read in the forum it looks like the best way to get AVI playback to work through GBPVR. Currently I get a black screen when trying to playack a AVI file. It almost worked once or twice, It showed a few seconds, then displayed the resume/restart screen and went black. I have since disabled the resume feature, but I still get the black screen. Green Power Button on MVP: Does the Green Power Button suspend the MVP as described in the MVP manual? I ask because I had an interesting experience. I think I accidently started 2 MVP servers on my primary PC, (Athlon64 3300+ 512mb 160g hd). I had the autostart set to 1 and I manually started a second (didn't relize I had the autostart set) When I was testing the MVP, It would sometimes display the contacting server messege, I think it was switching between the two servers. It would go from the "My Pictures" plugin back to the main screen, and back to "My Pictures". I think I was manually makeing it switch by pressing the green power button. This might prove useful if running two servers from different computers. Can anyone confirm this?
GBPVR Server:
AMD Sempron 3300+, 1gb DDR, 100, 200 & 500gb HDDs, DVD -/+RW PVR150 RETAIL, PVR150MCE. GBPVR 1.0.16, SKIN'S = Default Blue, PLUGIN'S = None MediaMVP

Email your logs to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look at the AVI problem.
