WDM Recorder using Software Compression

Some progress on making PixelView PlayTV Xtreme work with the plugin at least on the audio front. It seems that I cant find the settings to make PCI audio work in the plugin config. No matter what I do, in lastgraph.grf, there is no connection between "CX2388x Crossbar->Audio Decoder Out" to "Video Capture Device->Analog Audio In" and the "Video Capture Device->Audio Out" is not not connected to anything (like DirectSound Device).

The video part is still very strange. I see a picture that is completely out of sync. The same is true if I run lastgraph.grf in graphedit. Sigh.

I sure wish I could check how Media Player Classic's filter graph as it is working correctly. As it is, I can connect to the graph remotely from graphedit but the graph is always empty.

I believe Media player classic uses built in codecs not direct show.

Can you connect the two manually? I assume this is live preview - you can uncheck the live preview and try using timeshift always.

Since you already have a graph you can try graphRecorder plug-in instead of the softwareRecorder as well.

I think its a mixture of both. I have been able to construct the filter graph used by MPC but not entirely as it uses its own filters (see the red boxes in the pic) :confused:

Do you mean MPC and GraphEdit? You can use the "connect to remote graph" option in GraphEdit to connect to MPC (while it is running) but in my case, the window is always empty. Maybe its due to MPC using its own filters.

I have been using LiveTV and have not checked timeshifting/recording yet. I would think that LiveTV should work okay before going to timeshifting/recording but I am just a newbie here.

I have switched over to graphRecorder plugin. I think it is better suited and more versatile from my point of view. I still have problems with previews but recording is working correctly.

I am trying to get a Pinnacle PCTV pro working using WDM drivers. I succesfully tested the SoftwareRender woth the RecorderTest, however I am not able to let it show up under 'Recording Source' in the Config?

You probably need to copy the dlls etc into both the plugins main dir and the plugin directory..

You could also try the graphRecorder plugin

can this plugin work with mce150 cards so I can disable the hardware recording so I can try to use software encoding formats like divx in realitime?

create a PVRX2.exe.config file...[just a copy of the gbpvr.exe.config file]
tho i did change my dir to SoftwareRecorder as well..
you need it in both plugins\ and plugins\SoftwareRecorder\ for it to work in both .exe's...
confirmed, need the .config file in gbpvr\ AND the correct dir name in plugins...

I'm trying to setup SoftwareRecorder since GraphRecorder is going to be a huge pain to figure out...

I just installed GBPVR and I do not have the "gbpvr.exe.config" file (which makes it kinda hard to copy and rename, go figure).

Anyone know either where I can get a copy of it, or why I do not have this file in my gbpvr directory?
