Just a thought about the streaming functionality.. if the config is set for VLC as the external player, it would be better to send the metafile with a .vlc extension since this should let the browser correctly send the metafile over to VLC.. at least with firefox, i dunno about IE Smile

Looking at the code and what comes up on my machine it appears it is using the .vlc extension.....it creates a file named stream.vlc that is sent to the browser.....are you seeing some other extension?

Is the Enhanced Webadmin feature still lagging with the GBPVR v0.97.13 release?

Except for the search function, is there any other difference the bundled and the separate download?

TIA.

You can always see what is currently shipping with GBPVR vs. what the current release is at on the wiki.

I use the EWA a lot and for the most part it works great. But also I experience a seemingly random problem where the EWA web server stops responding. I cannot say what causes it other than it has happened on various pages (tabs) and it seems to mostly happen when I am recording something. Another symptom is that the gbpvr tray icon cannot talk to the recording service after the web server hangs. It happens while accessing the EWA remotely and from the localhost as well.

I can however still use the GB PVR application via a MediaMVP though. In order to get the webserver going again I have to kill the recording service via the task manager and then restart it.

I have never seen any errors in any GB PVR logs as a result.

I am currently running version 42 of the EWA the other system specs are in my sig. I generally use firefox as the browser to access the EWA.

Any suggestions?

The logs for the EWA are kept in a .NET System folder so you need to look at the logs there to see what type of error may be occuring. You can find these logs in the following folder structure.....the folder names will be different after the \gbpvr\ directory on each machine....you want to drill down through the subdirectories looking for the one containing the gbpvrpublic.dll.....there you should see a file that ends with a .log extension....this is the log output from the EWA.

Hi,

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right thread, if I'm not please direct my question to the right area.

I'm using 0.97.13, when I try to access my server at server:7647/gbpvr/index.aspx, the login screen doesn't show up, and i go right into manage recordings.

However if I click on the Config tab, it would bring me to the login screen.

Is this normal? It didn't use to be like this...right?

Thanks

It is normal....by defualt the EWA is set to auto-login users that are on the local network. But if you click on the Config tab and have not logged in already you will be prompted to login. This is s security mesure to make sure that the person on your network that is accesing the Config tab is someone that should really have access.

If you want to disable the auto login go into config and click the button that reads none under the automatic login range box.

Great, thanks for your help! I should have read the config tab more carefully, I didn't even realize this was an option!

OK I saw this posted before but never a resolution.

When I do a manual record without it reoccuring I get an error and it will not set up a recording service. If I do a reoccurance then it will add the manual recording just fine. I do not download an EPG and this records off the Composit in channel.

I belive this is one of the reasons sub is moving to SQLite as the database...this can occure if there is lag time in the db getting uddated in the proper order of events.

Has anyone seen this issue when using SQLite?

I am in the process of adding a TreeView for the results of an episode search.

All shows with the same names will be grouped together as well as ones with matching subtitles......I have attached a shot below....

Any feedback would be appreciated....I am wondering if I should provide an option to use either the tree results as well as table results (what it shows today) or just move to the tree reults alltogether....

My vote would be for an option in case people prefered the old style? Otherwise some people would feel they had to stick with an older version if they couldn't get on with the new tree view.
