OK, I'll wait and try it when its released.

Quote:changing the mymusic.xml file in the keymappings should solve all the key issues.
Sure, providing you have the function to map to eg Shuffle (if that makes sense)

Quote:random play, you mean random play of current folder/album (like what "play" does but instead of in order, play them randomly) or play your entire collection (all files in the database) in a random order?
Yes, basically. In general I tend to play Albums in their track order, but where I have a lot of albums by one artist OR when using a playlist, I woiud like to switch to shuffle.

Quote:so instead of loading a playlist in order (and then having to enter "Playlist" and clicking shuffle), you want to be able to play them in random order from "My Playlists" ? i could add a button like "Random: On/Off" to "My Playlists" which would indicate how to load a playlist. that way just set it to whatever you prefer and hit "enter"/"ok" will load it that way.
Yes that would be good. Would it hold its state?

Just had a strange one. Only using My Music, and doing a bit of testing. I powered off (MVP) as I always do to stop. Had a coffee. Turned back on and it came straight up in GBPVR screensaver and no button would get me out, so I will have to restart. Pressing OK advanced the timing of the screensaver, ie the logo moved every press!

yeah i get the problem to with the keypress, pressing one of the hotkeys gets me out of the loop (eg F1 = TV guide). but on the 34 button remote i guess you're screwed. are you sure you left it on the "My Music" screen?

i havent been able to see what the common problem is, leaving it on my music, leaving it on my videos, leaving it on tv guide.... i may ask sub to print out the activating plugin when it tries to return from the screensaver to help narrow down the bug....

reven Wrote:yeah this is the tricky thing, what seems more natural? im not even sure if its still this way in the version im using at the moment. should it stop the playlist and start the new album, or should it just add it to the playlist???? i think i prefer you having to stop it, just incase you didnt mean to clear the current playlist...

In general, most controls now act in smart mode so pressing play would start whatever is selected even if its playing something else. However I dont think this is a big deal, but, in checking it out I found a few more 'issues'.

How do you set up a playlist by playing a track and deciding you want to add it and then select another etc etc? Pressing RED plays and adds it BUT the next RED press stops it, removes it from the Playlist and starts/adds the next.

This does not happen when you select (RED) a folder. ie Artist/Album etc.

Another small issue is that if during Playlist set up, you press STOP, the Playlist deletes so you have to remember to SAVE it if you want it.

this is because pressing stop clears the list in gbpvr, so in order for there not to be any data inconsistencys i also clear the list. otherwise if you tried to play a certain track in the playlist, gbpvr would throw an error since there are no songs in the playlist.

as for all the key issues, ill worry about those in the next beta, im just trying to remove all the other bugs at the moment (want to get another beta out in the next day or so).

Reven, conversely, using OK on tracks DOES play/add them and continue to add (build a list), but obvioulsy not on Folders as, as you say, this just selects them.

I have asked myself the same question before now. :-)

Quote:how many artists do you have ?

many

I have absolutely no idea!

Quote: and was the memory issue just from when i introduced the "Albums" sorting mode? or was it there before. i may make it configurable which sorting modes are used.

No, I got the problem when simply starting up gbpvr.
