It's not available to the 'second' constructor either. The first time I see the Client ID is after the first Notify event I detect.

I have a very minor one but it would make things a litter easier. When you watch a recorded show from Recordings, and finish watching, it goes back to the recordings directory. Then to erase the show, you have to reselect the show, then pick erase from the pull down. I would be nice to have an easier way to erase something you have just watched. A popup or an erase button on the menu when you hit stop or the show runs out?

It would also be nice if it erased the folder if it was empty. I end up with a lot of empty folders in the directory. This makes looking through the videos tab more trouble than it should be as it shows all folders. (or make it so videos does not display empty folders)

Agreed, this would improve the user-experience. perhaps it could just go back to the pop-up?

Agreed although I thought that PBS or someone write a batch file to do this.

Hmm, I dont get this here. When you delete a recording, the app already checks if the directory is empty, and tries to remove it.

FWIW this is my list. Honestly I don't have any issues, it is already a great piece of SW. These are more "would be nice".

Not in any particular order:

1. Archive path with the option to transcode. (maybe with a timer that transcodes/archives after x days)
2. Video/Recordings tabs integration. I have never been sure why there are two.
3. Improved client server (e.g. no red X, WOL)
4. Improved TS to work better with time line issues from broadcast problems.
5. More than 3 hours in the guide.
6. More rows in the guide.

That works here for me. As long as no other files remain in the folder (like a folder.jpg), the folder gets deleted.

Cool, then I will look into my issues. I likely messed something up. Should this work by deleting from both Videos and Recordings?

The Directories tab of Config could have a list box to add multiple Recordings folders.

Each Recordings folder could have a virtual folder name as do Photo and Video folders plus a single digit number identifier allowing a max of nine recordings folders. One Recordings folder could be designated as the default.

Recordings in PVRX2 could display folders and files from the default folder. Pressing the 1 key could change the Recordings display to show folders and files from the folder designated as 1 in Config. Pressing the 0 key would display all folders and all files in all Recordings folders.

It may be that this could be implemented by adding a file_folder column to the recording_schedule table.

Radio buttons (or whatever) in Config could allow choices for recorded files that have null in the folder column of the recording_schedule table (i.e. existing recordings). Options might be: Show in all views of Recordings, Show only in view for folder designated as number 1 or 2 or whatever.

Quick Record would create files in the default recordings folder. Record and Manual Record would have an additional field that allowed "tabbing" through the various recordings folders using the arrow keys.

There could be a Move button on the Recordings menu to allow a file or folder to be moved to another of the recordings folders selected using arrow keys.

In a stereotypical household, this might work something like ...

Dad specifies three additional recording folders in Config - Mums (numbered 1), Kids (numbered 2) and Dads (numbered 3). Folder 1 would be designated as the default. The option to have all existing recordings (i.e null value in the folder column of recording_schedule) to be displayed in all views of Recordings in PVRX2 would be selected.

In PVRX2, selecting Recordings in the main menu would, by default, display folder 1 plus all pre-existing recordings so Mum would see no difference. Mum could continue to use Quick Record and recordings would go to her folder. The kids could be trained, using ice cream as an incentive, to press 2 after going into Recordings and to use Record rather than Quick record and to change folders (this might require extra ice cream). Dad could stay up late and use the Move button in Recordings to reorganise everyone's pre-existing recordings into the appropriate folders - "Family" recordings could stay in the original folder so that they still showed in everybody's view.

Great feedback guys - and there is definitely elements of these that I'm taking into the next release. I like there to be some surprises though, so I'm not saying exactly which Big Grin
