Thanks. The new logs should cover a lot of the unscheduled updates after 11pm last night.

I'm hesitant to try loading the Pluto extra with indexed channel numbers into NextPVR, unchecking all but the new channels because it's unclear if this might lead to duplicate channels in the database, and additional problems downstream in Kodi. Furthermore, the incremented channel numbers make a comparison with the existing extra.xml to determine if there are new channels more time consuming. It would be nice to be able to prevent this, or even have extrautils.py check to see if an occupied channel number belongs to the Pluto extra device before pluto.py indexes the channel numbers.

File replaced, PostLoadEPG and PostStartup time parameter changed to 300, lock file deleted and NextPVR service restarted.

There is no "Next PlutoTV XMLTV update" in the logs. Looks like that is only written after an xmltv-update is performed and the timer is greater than zero. Restarting the service should have tripped that, then again, the process was already running in memory, so maybe not.

Try this one, I added a message when it is just a refresh plus a write flush so that NextPVR doesn't lose the message when the batch file ends with the task running.

Looks to be working. We'll see what happens after 11pm.

Code:
2024-07-30 17:25:43.092    [DEBUG][8]    > NPVR Recording Service STARTED
2024-07-30 17:25:45.328    [DEBUG][7]    > Next PlutoTV XMLTV update 2024-07-30 22:25:45.328410

That would be the message the first time it was set perhaps after a PC restart, the message is slightly different if the service is restarted. You can check when the next update is anytime from the command line with python pluto.py xmltv-update 300.

Bad news. Logs only capture the tail end of it, other than BatchProcessing, which shows what happened overnight. Zipped in rar to keep it to one file. Hope that's ok.

Will try rebooting later.

Can I see your C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts\PostLoadEPG.bat again. Maybe zip it and then attach it.

It's basically just the template provided in the scripting section, with the one line added.

START /b "" python C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data\scripts\plutotv\pluto.py xmltv-update 300
